I was told, when I bought this plant, that it was a "Parrot Plant" the name was also on the label ...
But the Parrot Plants I have seen do not look like this.... Can any one please ID this plant for me?

Found it!
I think that it's Heliconia psittacorum - aka Parrot Heliconia. A member of the ginger family.

I think that it's one of the ginger family - I have a photo of it somewhere if I can find it..........
