Magpie on Neighbour's Leander

Only seen the one with no mate for and first time I have seen no young for the first time since we moved here 35 years ago. I have noticed the magpie numbers are going down since the Spanish Red Kite has been introduced. They scavenge the same as a magpie so less food for the magpie giving them the need to raid more nests .

I know these birds are 'evil' but they're such a bonny bird when you see them close up.

I have seen these birds dive and catch a young blue tit in it's beak. They are so sly but if you have one from young they become fearless and will even attack a cat.
I know what Costas 1 is on about Sheilar. Belonging to the crow family ( same as my Jay picture) they are an opportunist. If it fits in the beak they will eat it .
