This variety is apparently a chinense-annuum cross with purple pods! In Brazil it is called Neyde (after the women who discovered it). Even though the fruits don't resemble Chinense very much, the taste is said to be very chinense-like. The variety is definitely one for the avid pepper collector. Origin: Brazil. Scoville units: 100,000-300,000.
