This pepper is an edible ornamental variety. The long thin 3in fruits which resemble an eagles claw, grow upright in clusters on a compact plant forming a dramatic display. They matures from light green to a range of reds. The peppers have a very intriguing hot flavor, eaten fresh or dried for hot pepper powder and flakes. Also know as'Takanotsume' ('Japanese Hot Claw'). Origin: Japan. Scoville units: 20,000-50,000
