Does this go down into a pond Deejay.

There is a rill that leads from the trough to the pond but the two are not joined. A pump circulates from a sump into the trough which overflows into the sump. A pump in the pond supplies a fountain and water flowing down the rill back into the pond. I built the rill so that birds had somewhere to bathe. This is perfect in this cold weather as I can turn on the pumps without leaving the house, sit at the window and watch them doing there ablutions. I have added a photograph of a blackbird enjoying a bath.

Welcome Dejayell, lovely feature. I too like to welcome birds into the garden.
