My question too!

Very easy...Just as you would normally sow seed...1/4" deep, Feb, Mar or April...Some bottom heat, if possible....:>)

Thanks - how long to blooming?

If planted indoors in Feb, they should be flowering around July of the same year..treating them as tender perennials...:>)

Aaahh, we're not talking tuberous Dahlias (ie; "Bishop of" series) then?

Yes we are Meanie lol..Roots develop, then tubers..These seeds were taken from the ripened flower head of a tuberous plant, left in the ground..(accidentally)...But, i know what you're saying...the only to increase a particular variety and get an identical plant, is to divide the tuber... There are some lovely seeds to try though....'dandy'...'bishops children'...:>)

I just assumed that it was too quick for the tuberous types..........

I have sown seed of the Annual type, for the past two years,in late feb,and by the end of the season, they also made lots of tubers....which I didn't expect to see, when pulling them up...sadly,I didn't have any success in storing them over last winter, but they were so easy to grow anyway from seed anyway,so no great loss..which reminds me,I really must check to see if last years tubers haven't gone mouldy either...!

I grew 'bishops children' two years ago from seed and the tubers are massive now and store well..Its interesting to see what develops from collected seed too.:>)
