3 Clematis

Lovely...a few of clematis which are very young look dead too, but, as I was weeding around them found new shoots coming from the base..hope it's the same case with yours, have a look or give it more time before you replace it. :)))

Nothing green looking yet, but I did spot something that could possibly be a bud. Really not sure yet. Figured at £1.79 I couldn't go wrong. My mom loves clematis montana (its one of the only thing she has specifically asked for in the garden) so if it has died I'm ready to replace it, and if not I've got one to go elsewhere :))

Lovely, am looking to go to M Store to pick up Clematis Montana.....When i moved house i left a gorgeous mature Montana, was a beautiful pink cascade. Would love one our new garden, i really miss it so will definately be buying one! My garden is fairly shaded on left side and sunny on right side, not sure what aspect it prefers?

Hi Beverley, sounds like you had a gorgeous plant in your old house. Shame to have leave them behind. Not too sure about aspect, the packaging I think says any aspect, but I'm sure I read somewhere they prefer sunny sites. We used to have a Montana growing up the trelis on our deck, it got to be huge. But unfortunately it croaked during the cold winter we had the other year. That was in full sun with the roots very shaded (it was planted under the deck). Seemed very happy there, flowered brilliantly well. The one I picked up last year I've planted in a partly shaded site. Its not been in very long though so not sure how much it likes the spot. Hope this helps.
