I had to buy a new long-handled fork to dig it all over. I managed to break my old one on the aforementioned Hydrangea.
But, job done!

Hello, I see that was quite a job. I imagine this photo is after the third one with the beds. I dug an old strawberry patch over last autumn but it was easy digging. I use a shovel. Never tried a fork.
