Very pretty! Wylie what is that square things surrounding your plants? What is the tall sticks for? Maybe I don't have the correct English words for my questions, but I hope you know what I mean? I am just curious and always want to learn something new.

The square things are plastic bottles that have been cut to protect my new seedlings. This way the cats don't dig them up - it has saved a lot. The tall sticks are markers for plants I am expecting in the mail. They also keep my watering hose from crushing anything. The chair is under a tree so I can sit in the shade :) Also the photo was taken on the level - my main backyard has a slope, so none of the rows follow it, but are at angles to reduce run-off.

You are so clever! I like the idea with the bottles! And it also helps for better watering? I was thinking of using some of those poles the fishermen uses, - to keep my watering hose in the air? It is always a problem for me - especially when I make the daylilybeds bigger. Thanks Wylie!

The bottles help the small seedlings to get established, then I have to water outside them as the roots grow. The poles are from an invasive bamboo that grows every where, about an inch in diameter. You just have to be sure the little grow nubs are cut out or it will sprout.
