Middle of April last year (2011).
This little chap was caught in the act of nibbling a self-seeded Aquilegia.
He or she, passed through the garden and vanished. I was worried at the time that it might be a pet that had escaped. But there are many rabbit about here, so...
The Acer (yellow leaves on right) I have moved. It was in the garden when we arrived. In full sun. It burned.
I dug it up and (it being a minature variety) have preplanted in a big pot. Happily it survived the ordeal and is just now putting out leaf.
