This afternoon's activity

I have planted blue and white trailing flowers. Just hope I've got the proportions ok.

I love that stack of flower pots! should look brilliant, how are they attached?

Hi Sticki!

They are sort of threaded onto a long cane (one of those green knobbly ones - can't remember what they are called) I think really they should tip more - I've seen photos of brilliant ones. I had to enlarge the holes at the bottom of the pots (OH did it for me, actually) but I think if we'd made them even larger, they would have tipped more. Anyway - nothing ventured - nothing gained, and I am quite chuffed with them actually. I am greatly looking forward to seeing them flowering. I'll just have to be careful with the watering so the soil doesnt sploosh out!

I think they are fabulous!!!

Mel we used a steel rod from Bq

I am using a water bottle with attachement for watering hanging basket and just stick the bottle in and let the water soak in .

Got these water feeders from Beterwear many yrs ago.

Good idea, Scotkat!

I'll rig something up. And I think my "cane" is actually metal! It's well hammered in to the ground - I don't want to find everything on the ground in the morning!

What a great idea, love to see it when they`re all in flower.

I shall be posting a photo as soon as it's flowering properly. The larger lobelia have started to show blue, but it's still a bit patchy!

I love that idea :o)

I am very pleased with it, although I think the idea was to open the hole in the bottom of the pot right across to one side, to get a real "tip". However, it has done well. I am posting a blog of my containers, so you'll be able to see it as it is now.

I will look out for it :o)

What a good idea and clever OH for enlarging the holes without breaking the pots. I look forward to seeing it fully in flower.

There's a picture of it in my latest blog, Scotsgran. He enlarged the hole using a file - it was much easier than expected!

Thanks for telling how to do it. I'll go and have a look at your blog.
