thank you Paul.Still trying to fill in the bare spots. I had a BIG mole invasion this spring.....they destroyed about 15 plants including 3 of the 4 Indian pinks, all of the Delphinium tricorne (just planted) and two D. exaltatum. My mom told me to take used cat litter, put it in old socks and spread it around the garden, but then every stray cat in the neighborhood was peeing on my plants. So on Monday I bought mole repellent made of castor beans and that seems to be doing the trick. Got an umbrellaleaf, a Bowman's root, a Collinsonia and 2 blue cohosh delivered today but won't plant til I'm sure the moles have moved on.

Sorry to hear all that Laura - it's a pain! only thing to cure cats is really plant up - with thorny things too

I really don't kill anything but fleas so I don't want to put out poisons of any sort, but let me tell you I was really angry when those blasted moles killed the indian pinks - 3rd year for them and the one they left alone (maybe because it's surrounded by aconite) has become nice & big. I can just imagine how the rest would have looked this summer.

Yes sounds very annoying - I added all cobbles and rocks here - only prob is for every rock laid it is another slug home!
