That's what I accused myself of when I looked at this the other day! It's two defunct leylandii with a cap of wisteria and more things hanging on it than I really should allow myself!

I'm sure the birds love it and it does seem a shame to have to get rid of a whole lifetime of growing just because its a leylandii. Your recycling idea gets full marks from me.
