One that found its way beneath a step on the porch and survived even our long winter beneath the ice to spring forth early and be my first bloomer of the year. And what a glowing little thing it is, not at all dark to me. :-)

I couldn't believe how many of these carried over winter under the mulch! I caught one greening up with its feet still in the ice end of March.
