This is the 2 for 1 offer at Country gardens. 3 finger sarnies each + cakes and scones. The observant among you will notice a paper napkin under my cup and some screwed up napkins near it....yes I spilt my tea...but to be fair there was precious little room on the table. We got a taxi there and back and apart from the sandwiches it was not very good, didn't eat the Kipling cakes...scone not good clotted cream + jam ok ....nothing in the garden centre I wanted to buy. Bit of a wasted journey...nice day though:-)

How kind of you not to mention my little accident:-)

It was only £7.99 for the two of us on the offer...cost £17.00 including taxis lol.. and no plants I wanted either:-(

the best i can say is at least the bill was cheaper cos there were no plants on the bill.
pity the jinney ring isnt nearer to you its lovely there. i have a feeling there is a craft centre somewhere up there, i think samjp told me about it???
£8 ~ hmmm, could have been worse!!

Very cheap if edible:-) Just think of the normal price though:-(

and the worst thing about it is once they have brought it to you its very difficult to argue about the price.

Are you seriously saying that cup of a tea a scone a very dubious looking smart price loaf sandwich would normally cost £16 !!! per person?

I totally agree with your comments BA. I got a very similar offer to this from Wyevales last week and we got the exact same offering. It was a pity because the invitation they sent made it sound lovely. It was the same price too. - Not recommended! Its probably part of the same group, I think Wyevales have been taken over by the garden centre group in the last few months

No Pimp, it was a 2 for 1 offer, normally £7.99 pp, but if I'd made that scone, I'd have thrown it away...and a tiny Mr Kipling cake! The 3 finger sarnies were nice;-)

Yes Poppy, this was taken over a year or two ago...massive chain, no interesting plants:-(
29 May, 2012
Big chains like that tend to let standards down..nothing like a wee teashop to have good home baking eh :)

don't look good to me either, definately Kiplings cakes,

You should have tried the scones Yorkie, yuck. Pixi, as I bought nothing at the gc I'd rather have found a wee tea shop:-)

Well I had a cream tea at Dobbies today & it was lovely, as was the sweet & sour chicken with vegetable rice I had for lunch when I first got there & an iced coffee that I didn't spill ! Lol.

Save your pennies for the RHS marquee at Gardeners Live Bornagain :-)) I have a list as long as my arm and if you see a lady wheeling around a new pink barrow full of plants it will be me :-))))
