Yes I know, I tried it.
After taking the basket to home, the main work will start.
Washing, making Halves, spreading and drying them under the sun. After 3-4 days they will be ready for new production like puree, jam, tarts, pies and etc.

sun dried apricots?? the same method as with tomatoes?
4 Jun, 2012
Oh yesss, same method.
As you know, there is some electronic kitchenwares to do that faster. But I dont like. Cuz sun cares natural taste and flavor.

Must be lovely. Not enough sun for that here!
Do you need an irrigation system for your trees?
4 Jun, 2012
Not yet. Cuz I have enough share of fresh water for the trees. But some of the neighbors use kinds of irrigations.
If the trees Increase, I have to use too.
At now, my garden has 115 trees:
Apple 90 [Red 86, Yellow 4],
Plum 12,
Apricot 2,
Cherry 10,
& Greengage 1.
I have a plan for near future on:
Pear, Grape And decorative flowers.

I love dried apricots as a healthy snack instead of eating sweets, and put lots of them into my fruit cakes at Christmas.
