Iris pseudoacorus var bastardii - 2012

I've found these described as "Yellow Water Iris"...and I have just the spot for them. Until this spring, it has been a floodplain of the stream...I have widened the stream and kept silt and detritis moving so that the current keeps the bottom of the stream gravelly, on the lower bank I've accumulated the silt, etc. and have made a shallow berm of soil and that's where I want to put the water iris...I'd value your opinion on this placement, Andrew. Now I have to find and buy the plants.

that is encouraging. Thanks Andrew. I have plenty of waterlogged soil! Found a wild arum growing on the stream bank last summer but it seems the spring flood has taken it downstream...going to try to establish some of them in the same area as the iris.
