Colour!

The garden is mainly what you might call cottage style. The star this May was the clematis on the left, which has now clambered up the conservatory drainpipe. It likes the sun in this south-facing aspect. At the back is a caenothus and the white bush is one of four large choisya bushes we have. I don't like bare patches, so there are several roase bushed underplanted with a tighly packed mix of rockery plants and geraniums. This part of the garden slopes sharply, so drainage is not bad, but feeding the roses with compost is a little tricky.
