This has proved perennial for several years for me - this may bcause it is growing in fairly dry soil in full sun but not overly fertile. Reaches three feet

Seems the verbascum love dry soil and will even tolerate salt...just bought Verbascum chaixii "Sixteen Candles"... it's in a bed with newly cultivated soil...so it isn't especially humusy...hoping for flowers..but looks like it may be next year before I get any...the old standby is already in flower....and the birds are gathering in anticipation of the feast to come.
