That is a really interesting idea, Kath - I shall love to hear how they (and you) get on! I am thinking of trying some bonsai with some of the tree seedlings in the garden - if I can get them up without breaking off the root. They develop surprisingly long roots very quickly.

That looks a huge coffee cup in the background, I'd like one of them :-)

I saw some of those in Dobbies, Tubbyhippo.

Dobbies??
26 Jul, 2012
Found Dobbies!! I thought it might be a garden centre Melchisedec, nearest one to me is Reading!! 50 miles :-(
26 Jul, 2012
other garden centres have them too tubby,

OK, I'll have a look see in Haskins, they are near to me.
26 Jul, 2012
Sorry - very parochial of me, Tubby! Hope you find some!
26 Jul, 2012
i dont have dobbies near me either!!
26 Jul, 2012
Well - we've only had one for a few years! Before that it was a "Trip" rather than a "pop" to a GC!!
26 Jul, 2012
i cant complain ~ i have two GCs i can walk to and another three within 6 miles!!!
26 Jul, 2012
I wonder if there's a service like Tesco, shop without the "pop" on line :-)

Oh yes, like the terracotta one---very nice. Polka dot a bit girly for me :-)

I'm afraid Dobbies is owned by Tesco - not my favourite supermarket. I tend to use the nurseries a bit further away for plants, but the gifts and general stuff is appealing, I have to admit. And they have a very good local butcher with a concession in their food hall!

i didnt know that melchi.
i cant comment on them as a supermarket cos i work for a different one !!!
26 Jul, 2012
Well - in this neck of the woods they are taking over the world (their giant - third biggest - store is just a mile or so away) They paid for a huge 6-exit roundabout at the entrance of their huge site, and Dobbies is just another half-mile away. Oh well - rant over. My nephews have both had weekend and holiday jobs there. I'm just prejudiced. I expect my store of choice has just as many critics!!
26 Jul, 2012
is your store of choice the same as mine melchi?
26 Jul, 2012
I don't know - it's owned by a rather unpopular American chain! But I like the store - spacious and very nice staff (so perhaps it is, Sticki!!!)
I would rather go to the posh, upmarket British one but it's just too far away!!
26 Jul, 2012
i think i recognise the second one !!!! so thats ok!!! it is also spacious and has very nice staff
26 Jul, 2012
Ah. Yes, beautifully spacious, with lovely fruit and veg, beautiful bakery and - oh yes, exceptionally nice staff!!
26 Jul, 2012
if its the same one im thinking of we try very hard!!!
27 Jul, 2012
:-) I expect it is!
