Grass (type?)

This wasn't planted, it just arrived, and was flopping over as I walked past, camera in hand. The closer I looked, the more I liked it.

I've got several. The coarse grasses that are a nuisance in borders can make quite nice plants if left for a few years, as I've discovered in my wild area. This one escaped even though it's in the herb bed - it was "hiding" behind the fennel and an evening primrose!

i would say that's Stipa Gigantea seed heads, a lovely grass Melchisedec.. very nice.
