just googled it, all to do with watering apparently, under water, over water, just waiting on OH to come back and read it,

Right thanks for letting us know, mine ok at moment i've heard about over watering them and also you can under water aswell.

apparently to avoid this problem you need to add 2 tsp of epsom salts into the soil and just stir it around to reach the roots,

Maybe cut off the rotten fruit and see if that helps along side E.S.

G/M we have been removing them each day we see them, going for ES tomorrow and give it a go, one side of the greenhouse has all the plum tomatoes which are these, on the other side cherry tomatoes which are not affected by it at all,

Amy I am so sorry to hear your OH pulled the toms out, how annoying, we did not know what it was that is why I put the photo on, then granmadge wrote and I googled it, Ralph is watering less often now, we have not had any bad one's today yet, we have been trying to buy epsom salts but have been told we will have to get it from the chemist, its the italian plum one's that are being hit, all the cheery one's are fine,
13 Aug, 2012
Ours were the Italian ones Val , we live and learn , we still have some in the greenhouse so not all is lost ......
13 Aug, 2012
how strange Amy we both got hit with the italian one's

Yorks. Think they need Calcium which you can add to the soil in the guise of epsom salts!! They have blossom end rot. (found this on google) x
