'After'. Using the line of string which was 30cm away from the wall all the way along was so much easier than guesswork. Didn't take long either. Now the border is long and straight it should get gradually neater and neater after each edge trim and weed.

Thats a good idea for a straight line, for curves I use the hose pipe.
