Porch Corners

Porch Corners

Of course, all this happened in a hot full sun cabin wood, before I whisked them to this dappled spot where they just glowed against the wild green background. What to plant for shade next year to pack this kind of punch!

Thank you! And very like mind Karen, I've been thinking of trailing begonia. I'm using new baskets here next year, on the posts. The view into the trees is too wonderful for me to give up.

Sticki, I'll add more forest over the days. My forestland is a treasure at this place.

How beautiful! How did you make it? Are they growing in baskets/pots? What is the name of those two flowers on the bottom (yellow and white)? Very effective!

It is stunning woodland...birches, all white and translucent sparkling in the sunshine. They are fast becoming my favourite trees!

Certainly looks a treasure very worth preserving, will be lovely to see the changes you make.

Katarina, Thank you. I have them both in pots, the top one was removed from a wall, so it is flat on the back. The yellow and white is Bidens 'goldilocks' and Bacopa 'snowstorm'. I've been planting that combo for three years, always just wonderful given enough sun. Thirsty combo but neither require constant moisture. Bacopa is a 6inch plant like lobelia, but snowstorm specifically will grow indefinately and trail like this.

Karen, you would love the boreal forests. I have the oldest birch trees on this property. One is a mother tree, broken off at the top, full of woodpecker holes and squirrel caves in the roots. I'll have to take a shot of it, she's a wonder, right out a window over the piano.

Sticki, I'm spoiled I got such a lovely spot, high on the ridge over my whole neighborhood. Will share soon.
