Late Arrival - Rhipsalidopsis rosea

The mean streak of Winter's biting-back event seems to be finally over (It is said that you should never complain about the weather because you never know who is listening - can it not nip again?) letting us see for the first time this year the fabulous translucent beauty of a single three centimeter blossom (There are at least twenty five more to come) of this American epiphytic cactus, shot close-up against the natural light of day.
