Sadly this box which is one of ten from same supplier looks as though it has deteriorated beyond repair but what is killing it?

It is always a good idea to get back in touch with any supplier and ask that question of him. Maybe the roots were damaged when they were being potted up. If it was anything sinister I would have expected all of your plants to suffer from it.
