Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba' - 2013

There was something to that effect on one of Surreylad's pages, if memory serves me, Andrew.
Have they discovered it not to be what they thought it was?

I haven't heard the reasons mouldy. Usually it's either they've found the DNA doesn't match with other dicentras so it has to move to a new family, OR a plant explorer found it and called it macrocapnos before somebody else found it and called it dicentra (the first name has priority).
I suspect it's the former reason in this case.

Doubtless, it's common name will persist, but I wonder how long the Latin changeover will take in gardeners' mind?

Given that pelargoniums are still called geraniums, I would put any money on it happening soon :-)

Even that is news to a newbie like myself.
