Very happy against the new wall.

I saw that for the first time last year, and wish I had space for one. It's beautiful. :-)

I've put it on my arches, and it's doing well enough so far, in spite of leafing early and being decimated in March! Everything has had a false start and that knocks things back so hard.

That's true. My roses started to leaf up, then the little leaves all 'burnt'.

Is that early, or is it always out at this time of the year B?

No, it's about right. Its a very early flower-er. :-))

Reliable and repeat?

dont think so.

No, and no, Dd. It likes a warm and sheltered spot, and just has one glorious bout of flowering...worth it, though.
When I first saw it, in an open garden, I didn't recognise it as a rose! The blooms are tiny little 'bunches'. This photo is a close-up, of course.

As you know, too cold for this one here, but I do have buds on my R.xanthina 'Canary Bird'. It has devilish thorns though!
