did you see the mallards on tv lastnight i think it was, springwatch, there are so many males and not enough females, so the males mate then leave the females to look after the eggs and young, then lots of other males go after her to mate with her, it was like gang rape, poor female duckies. some days they go without much food for fear of leaving their eggs if the weather cold and when they do they get attacked by males,
