Ripening Pollen Cone - White Pine Or Similar

Not often seen by the casual walker in the woods is this 2.5cm pollen cone soon to burst and spread its burden far and wide but cast down by the wind an interesting little item underfoot. A producer of huge quantities of pollen and one of the sources of much summer allergy for unfortunate sufferers.
I am one of those sufferers Chwiliwr but I still like it. Very interesting and good picture.
