I'm sure it's been on the property for decades...pruned out all the dead stuff and it's blooming great. Birds love the red berries ...but I tasted them and they are the most bitter terrible toxic tasting things I've ever put in my mouth!

I don't recognise it at all Lori ,it's a pretty flower your pruning obviously did it good , If I come up with anything I'll let you know the birds enjoying the berries might help to identify it , but you shouldn't go round trying to eat things if you don't know what they are ! you will poison yourself :o( I ate some mushrooms once I didn't know what they were I left a note on the kitchen table just in case I was ill in the night then they would know what I had eaten !

I was a little concerned after trying these ..but I took such a little bit and it was so terrible that I spat it out very quickly...but was also surprised how long the nasty bitterness stayed on my tongue...gahhhh.
You, on the otherhand, are very brave....we have tons of fungi about but I only eat what I buy at the grocery. Have dozens of photos of the fall fungi and did some research for a blog..but got bogged down trying to ID them all. It seemed that just about everything growing on the hill was poisonous or suspect! lol....
