This grows sooo fast - we keep cutting it back to a couple of feet tall, as we haven't welded the arch yet!

We are in a valley bottom - so rich alluvial silty loam - perfect! But on the flipside - the frost rolls down the hill and stops with us at the bottom!

Seems like we cannot have it all. I have no frost by the ocean and have rock hard, awful clay.

It's stunnung. I love a 'Rose Tree'. I remember seeing one in Branklyn Garden at Perth a few years ago. I was bowled over by it. It was huge..had obviously been there many years. I'm pretty sure it was R. moyesii, but it didn't look shrubby at all...it was a real 'tree' shape. Gorgeous deep red blooms. Nice doggy!

Have finally got the OH to weld up the arch - so now we can really let the rose do what it wants!!!

That is incredible Hoya. You must have a good soil there.
