A single sprig of this plant placed in position last Spring on the top of a stone wall is now in full bud and ready to open its flowers. Having received abundant supplies of moisture it has adopted a luxuriant mode of growth and is producing myriads of flowers, however plant it in dry, sunny position with a low nutrient supply and it will produce a low-growing mat of rosy leaves with fewer flowers hence the epithet - cv 'Coral Carpet'
