First flower on my climbing Hydrangea

Planted this two years ago and it has now taken off. They do seem to do that...just sit there for two years and then romp off. I have planted it near my shed because I want it to cover that bit of fence and the side of the shed. It will soon do that job for me now it's got established. This is the part of the garden that is really deep builders sand...but most of my plants seem to love it! Just shows..most plants will tolerate anything except bad drainage!

My mum has an older one, and it is smothered with flowers every year, so here's hoping!

We had a problem getting the plant to cling to the fence, have wired it to the supports, so hoping this will encourage it, if not will try tape!!

Yes, I've noticed it's struggling to get a grip of the fence too. May have to attach wires or a bit of trellis.

Staple the ties to the fence Dotty, you can have them exactly where you want then.

That's exactly what happened with mine - quite a respectable number of flowers this year (about its 4th, I think)
