Showing wooden framework around perimeter, edging space for annuals to hopefully thrive in year by year changing the look of the beds

Hi, hope you don't mind, but that edging space looks very narrow to me, {only about 3"}, I don't think that is wide enough for annuals to develop their true potential, even Allysum or Lobelia want more space than that, sorry, Derek.

Ah yes Derekm and no offence taken.I appreciate everyone's viewpoint so your right and that is an astute observation but actually the frame work is exactly that a form work that is intended to be removed. It is there so I can put two boards together and walk upon it so as not to touch,or tread on the soil when planting.I intend to gravel the area afterward.I would like to put allysum carpet of snow with my favourite perennial plant Aubretia. I have seen this mix before and it looks splendid, especially mixed together with the many colours Aubretia now comes in..

Lol, that's ok then, I thought you were going to plant in that small space, oops, Derek.

I'm looking for five plants then I am good to go, been out and about today with little success, ebay have three of these plants but the post n packing always cripples any bargain and more or less brings the proposed purchases from the bay in line with garden centre prices. I have seen a picture of what I would like the finished bed to look like and then promptly lost it again on the computer, however should I find it I will put it up here for people to see, I mean the beds could take a couple of years to flourish and prosper with an abundance of growth, but it is the way it is, I am unable to do anything about it. I'm not the greatest gardener in the world and wish this lot was finished so I can spend some time away from home, away from computers, and in my allotment, ah the peace and tranquility and a nice low blood pressure lol.

Thank you for all the interest and commitment people have shown in helping me, it is very much appreciated.
