Walnuts

I am jealous Brinjay. I have 3 walnut trees (still young)and no single nut. How old is yours?

I have 2 very large trees and 1 small tree , all 3 are loaded this year. All 3 were here when I came to live here.I was told the 2 large ones were planted as boundary points in 1935 and the smaller 1 self seeded about 20 year ago. Most of the nuts are usually taken by squirrels or crows. Last year we had only a few nuts.

:-) We have the same problem with hazelnuts. We have 2 enormous bushes (almost trees) loaded with nuts. But we will not see a single one when ready to pick them up. Someone beats us to it. Jays and squirrels mainly.
