Opuntia phaeacantha? (Opuntia phaeacantha (Engelmanns Prickly Pear))

It's blooming! I'm rather pleased to say the least!

Will they produce fruit to eat in this country? If you ever go to Cyprus and visit my brothers garden which is huge, you will see them grow wild on the borders and bearing hundreds of fruits. The fruits are edible when ripen. We eat them. I do not know if you do.

I doubt it, but I've had a tickle around with a paint brush anyway..................

Do you keep it indoors in the winter Meanie? I ask because I'm after an Opuntia for outside. I know that some of them are hardy to -20° but, of those, only a few can take winter wetness.
