We were recently at my parents' cabin in Canada. It is on Anderson Lake north of Whistler (btwn Pemberton and Lilloett) and is very remote. You can only get to the cabin by boat.

It must be wonderful there.

My sister used to live on Vancouver Island and told many a tale of the strange and wonderful British Columbia nature... I myself was surprised at the size of Maple leaves... a foot across... and the descriptions she would give of the temperate rain forest, and the miles of logging roads... other relatives have supplied photos of the beaches and the trails from the northern tip of VI down the coastal beaches... a long trek with camping gear along stretches of shoreline that are still and mysterious one minute and battered by shrieking gales the next... a wondrous, amazing place...Hope to see it again.
