Globe Thistle

I quite like those thistly thingies Linda and your ferns too. I have a fern growing that just chose its place. It is doing well in the shade and quite a dry spot. Just a funny aside. Some time back you sent me a big seed head (lost the name) I grew some on but they all eventually succumbed. I put the seed head in an egg cup on a shelf. On a breezy day, in the heatwave, I walked into the kitchen to find it smothered in a sort of brown confetti. The lurking seed case had opened wider and some contents flew about. Now coralled within 2 plastic cups.

These have done well this year and the Bees absolutely love them !

I got a small clump from a friend in the spring and it has grown really well. I like thistle type plants.......must be the Scot in me. :0)
