Hello, Klahanie. If literally translated, it is neither castle nor chateau, it is "manor house". Although, I do not know what was the real difference, lol.
You are right, it was built in 1889 in the so-called "pseudo gothic style". Inspiration for this building were French castles on Loire.
Owner of the building was Palffy family. In 1945 their estate was taken over by Czechoslovak government for their cooperation with Germans. Later the place become leisure place for Czech and Slovak writers. Now, nobody knows who is the owner. Probable Russian millionaire living in London. Lol. I am joking.

"Now, nobody knows who is the owner. Probable Russian millionaire living in London."
Sad thing is that you are probably right!

Meanie@Yes, I made mistake. It should be "probably". :-)

Among other candidates are former STBs and KGBs, who used the positive winds in nineties (as information means power) and become millionaires, as well. :-)

For anybody who thinks that to get enormous wealth by the illegal or immoral way is disgusting nature of humanity.

Oh, yes. Unfortunately, this world is run by otherwise thinking people. They feel safe and their right to take wealth from others take as something natural and do not doubt about this. If it wasn´t like that, many things will not happen.

One good news is, that court in Slovakia accepted unjustice of forgeiture of Thomas Bata estates in former Czechoslovakia and is going to pay compensations to his descendants, which are roughly around one billion of euros. Czech republic is stil litigating with Bata´s family. One fact is in favour of Bata - he never cooperated with Germans and in Eastern Slovakia, where he had large factory, his emplyees were even cooperating with partisans.
