It isn't Winifred. The colours are similar, but it doesn't open out so much, and it isn't so frilly.

Oh... that a shame, so wanted it to be! never mind, now I know theres one called that I shall look out for it.Thanks Hywel :-(

I'll see if I can get you a cutting. It's rather small but I may be able to take a cutting from a non flowering shoot :o)

Hywel thats very kind of you, but don't worry,I'm sure I'll find one at a GC very near, that specialises in Fucshias. I didn't even know there was one called Winifred, otherwise I would have tried to find one earlier.I like to have plants in the garden with names of family.... bit of a soppy old thing!

I do the same. I have ones the names of my two grans, and Beryl lol :o)
I think you'll have to go to a specialist nursery for Winifred. It isn't one that is seen very often.

Hywel... I've located a nursery in Glamorgan, through the Leicester Fucshia Soc. Have e-mailed them today, just waiting to hear from them. Fingers crossed!!

Is it Brynawel Fuchsia nursery ? That's where I got mine from. It's about 70 miles from here and sometimes we go there ... don't know if I could make it these days though lol
I didn't think they sent Fuchsias out at this time of year.

Yes Hywel it is. I haven't had a reply yet. I wouldn't thinks so either, but if they do stock it I'll keep the address and try early next year for delivery. It seems ironical that its in your neck of the woods!! :-)

It isn't my neck of the woods really. It's about 70 miles away lol but I have been there a few times.

I hope you're able to get it in the spring.
I'll be sending for some from there by mail order. It's too far for me to drive there now.

Hywel, could it be 'Paula Jane'?

16 Sep, 2013

Ah yes, it certainly looks like it :o)

16 Sep, 2013

I've grown it in the past that's why I thought it may be that one.

16 Sep, 2013

I've grown it in the past too, but didn't remember about it lol memory fading with age now ;)
You're probably right :o)

16 Sep, 2013

Thanks both of you, so you reckon it could be Paula Jane then, if thats the case Paula Jane it will be!!:-)

16 Sep, 2013

I'm sure it is, Gralew.

17 Sep, 2013

Scotkat can't have seen it. Maybe you could send her a PM asking her to have a look. She's very knowledgeable about Fuchsias.

17 Sep, 2013
