My clients asked me to put them in black plastic bags - punch few holes - and they are going to use them next year.

Those clients are the smart ones - the keepers!

they like to recycle whatever they can:) and even have a 'working' wormery, lol

AAhh, Nature's tillers...:) (the worms)
14 Nov, 2013
they work so hard (worms) - maybe I should set them free? lol

I have to make sure I bury them (the worms) because the robins, blue jays and ravens are always spying me from the trees.

In that garden there is a young robin - have to admit I leave some for him sometimes. But he's so cute....

I love the robins too and the cardinals with their bright red plumage. I don't mind sparing a few worms especially when they have hungry mouths to feed.

That's a good point. There is a huge oak tree outside my fence and every morning you can hear the birds singing... I wish I could have a bird feeder in my garden and be able to watch and photograph them - but I can't because of my cat....

I know what you mean, the robins here are rather slow and make easy prey for the cats.

Perfect photo. How is your job going on, Kasy?

And my cat is a hunter I am affraid Bathgate...
Katarina - my job is Ok. Just raining too much recently, but once in a while it is nice to take rest in the middle of the week, lol.

Definitely.

Katarina so was mine and I found out the hard way. He already brought me several very un-welcomed gifts and I never imagined that one little bird can have so many feathers. :(

Bathgate@sorry, your comment is referring to what comment? :-)
21 Nov, 2013
Hey Katarina I was referring to my cat. After you said your cat was a hunter. I said I found that out the hard way about my cat because he already brought me a couple birds already as gifts. Some I managed to save but not all. Sometimes I found just so many feathers all over the place but no bird. He must have eaten it. :(

haha - bit of misunderstanding going on here.
Bathgate - the cat - her name is Masha is mine. I know what you mean about learning about your cat - I keep experiencing it all the time. Bit less now as I've learned to let her out bit late in the morning, but still. Sometimes I am able to save a bird or a mouse, but very often it's too late. just feathers. But I keep saying this is a natural circle - but still feel sad when it happens.

OMG! My bad!! Sorry about the confusion. Cats will always be....Cats!
22 Nov, 2013
haha - don't worry:) I know - you can't change their nature, lol. But I can't have a bird feeder/bath in my garden - just too close to the predator, lol.

LOL That could be my yard too. I feel so much better now. You know those leaves make an excellent mulch for your flower/vegetable bed. I put it down in my beds and by spring - "black gold!"
