Ours is just beginning here..not many shop window displays yet,but all the other stuff has been on sale for weeks ! :o( It seems to get earlier every year..much to a lot of peoples annoyance..

I know, it really is annoying. Here, it seems like everybody forgot about Thanksgiving and jumped right to Christmas.

As you will know,we don't celebrate Thanksgiving..we had Halloween..one of your traditions here now,and Bonfire night on the 5th of this month, with lots of Firework displays...

Yes I also find it annoying as early as this. It gets monotonous after a while, and by the time it eventually arrives I am fed up with it.

But I do like this display :o)

It would be nice if we got a little snow for Christmas. New York is so beautiful with the lights and such. Just walking around the holiday cheer sure does rub off on you. Before you know it, you're laughing without even realizing it.

We usually get snow in January and February, or even later sometimes. I hardly ever remember it at Christmas time.

Funny that as a little kid, I remember nothing but snowy Christmases, and I mean a good 3 feet. I remember being outside playing in the snow with my sibs and neighborhood kids. We would always build a family of snow people and build "living room furniture" out of mounds of snow & ice.

That sounds like fun ! :o)
Some winters we don't get any snow at all here ... and only once do I remember deep drifts. It was in the 80s, and didn't clear for several weeks. Usually it's just an inch or two.
I used to enjoy snow but these days I find it rather depressing.
