It doesn't need attention, Dd, but it isn't as 'showy' as the cirrhosas.

Spritz do you find the winter flowering Clem's require sheltered situations? Found very conflicting advice on the net....

Not really...however, Lansdowne Gem is against the house wall, so I suppose that helps. Wisley Cream faces south, but Freckles isn't really sheltered at all. I suspect in a very cold area further north they might be risky.

It is the wet winters and also the east wind which do the most damage to our garden...

I agree about east winds. I lost two Pittosporums to it! I gave up then and planted a Nandina instead. :-)
