Hi Shirley, not a fan of shingle, so think the grass will stay until I get fed up and dig it out and plant it up. Might never happen but it keeps shrinking each year. lol.

lol this was all grass not so long ago 3d. every year a little bit more gets taken out. lol less to cut and that is good in my book :O)

Most of mine died one side through trees from next door, the other side neighbours put a 6ft fence blocking the light and grass all turned to moss, so it all had to be taken out and wide borders dug.

Bit like that here, trees and hawthorn hedge all around and damp clay soil so we get quite a lot of moss in the grass, it has never been a lawn only a grass paddock which had to be turned into a garden. We have been here 35 years and each year a bit more grass has been taken up. I used to have geese and goats running and grazing on it when we first came here, that saved me cutting it but once the two youngest had gone to school I had to have something to keep me out of mischief so started to garden lol, have not stopped since. lol.

Yes it s a great mind occupier is nt and a cheap hobby if you buy from the supermarkets not garden centres unless they have sales. Your garden looks lovely now with you changing it from a paddock 35 years a long time.

How lovely to know you had geese and goats how wonderful to have them in your garden, my mum use to have a cockerel she said it was the best guard dog she ever had. Later she kept chickens.
