Are these plants Bathgate, or are they cut flowers? We have them here from the Floral Wholesaler, they are flown in from from Columbia! They are pretty special I must say!!!

These are actual plants - hard to believe isn't it? I've seen colors I've never seen before - some are even multi-colored blue/pink, etc.

The colours are amazing aren't they? I was making enquiries about them at the Floristry Wholesaler only the other day... The cut varieties when cut are placed in buckets of water containing dye, which colours/dyes the flowers... Not so sure I like that idea, but it can be very useful in floristry work!

hmmm, that's interesting! Isn't there also something you can add to the soil that would affect the coloring- certain trace elements perhaps? I'm not an expert, LOL!

Yes, the blue varieties are best grown in an acid soil, so that they keep the true blue colour! I'm no expert on it either! :D An old Auntie of my OH used to always place used tea leaves around her Hydrangea shrubs - It always seemed to work for her!
