Ranunculus: Big Orange Flower

Who can identify this one? :)

This one definitely belongs to the Ranunculus species, but there are about 600 varieties, so hardly to say which one. It is beautiful. Could it be Persian buttercup?

I agree with Katarina! What a beautiful Ranunculus! I had some red ones last year in a pot, I re-potted them in the Autumn and they sent up leafy shoots almost straight away! They've survived the wet Winter, I'm waiting for them to flower - don't think that will be until about May time... :o)

Thank you everybody for your comments. This bloom is as big as an orange. Petaltracey and Katarina, you are spot on as usual :)

If I am without spot or stain now, then it is O.K. :-)
