Lovely...they do not like my clay soil, but I still planted two of them, they are doing ok, but I know they won't probably flower for years. I had one when I lived in London, it did not like the clay soil there either, it grew to a very healthy size but no flowers, until one day I was thinking to myself that I might as well dig it out and give it to someone, that same year it flowered and flowered ever since. I left it in London doing it's thing, as I thought if I were to dig it out it may not like it's new home.

We are heavy clay here in places in the garden, but I did put a bag of ericacious compost down when I planted them. The white one next to it never does as well as this one, but after saying that this has taken about 4 years to get as good as this. I live in hopes for the white one. :O)

Yep, the one I had in London flowered on it's fifth year too. I shall buy some ericaceous compost for mine as well.

Apparently you only have to spread the compost around the base of the plant and the worms drag it down into the soil so no digging in needs to be done, or so I am told. lol :O)
