Jove and Rosie

I know this photo is not garden related but you all seem to love cats as much as I do.

For me gardens and cats go together. My cats have always been around me in the garden and I can't imagine life without a cat : o)

We have collected 5 in all Lori - they were all hungry strays

23 Jul, 2008

When we lived in Italy I was forever bringing home hungry strays; I think the moggies in the area spread the word about this daft English family who took in any passing stray, my Father was attacked by a wild/feral cat attempting to break in through my parents' bedroom window one night. After that only the original was allowed to stay ...... but the apartment was always full of her kittens :-)
So I don't believe for one minute that you will stop at 5!

I'm wondering about the term "moggies"...where does that come from?

26 Jul, 2008

An interesting question, Lori,
and I found a fascinating answer at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moggy
That's my 'live and learn' experience for today :-)

Gosh Xela I do hope we stop at 5! Especially as I seem to have semi-adopted all the strays when feeding time comes round. Luckily they all go away when they've licked the plates clean ....

Thanks Xela....imagine it meaning both mouse and cat!!! lol.

It is fascinating finding the origins of words and phrases which we use often without thinking any more about them, isn't it, Lori :-)
Terry, they have gone to tell all the cats in the neighbourhood about your 'soup kitchen' :-D

Easy Life Being A Cat...

10 Aug, 2008

Did photos have to be garden related in those days? Today pets are another category recognised here... I deify cats as the Egyptians did ... (as you could see from my blogs)
I love the way cats lie together ... this is an unusual shot in this respect - specially touching (!!) (in both senses.)
