My wife and I visited Canada in September 2006 to celebrate our joint retirement (could never aford to go again) We were recomended to go to Butchart gardens when we arrived at Victoria Island. What a beutifull garden awaited us, typical British with beddiding plants and perfect lawns. the 4hours stay was not long enough, but I will have to dream each year about these gardens.

I live in Ontario, Canada and have not visited these gardens yet, do intend to one day but quite a distance away. My husband had to attend a conference here but I was sadly not able to go at the time. One day......

The Butchart gardens were created with an idea by Mrs Jennie Butchart to beautify an old worked out quarry on the cement works own by her husband, the outlook from their house looked out on to this derelict area. but with the skill of Jennie Butchart who loved gardening and with the aid of plants collected during their extensive travels through out the world the gardens were created

THESE GARDENS ARE NOW A NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE OF CANADA
